New Beginning Foster Home

New Beginning's foster home is the first and only in Mukachevo

New Beginning has recently built a new purpose-built foster home. This will give more young people even greater life-transforming opportunities, therefore helping them to reach their full potential.

 

Following negotiations with the  local authorities, land was freely provided for two adjoining houses - as well for growing vegetables and even keeping pigs!

 

Now completed a Christian foster "mum & dad" will live in the house who will provide the loving care and attention they so desperately need.

 

In March 2011 leading Russian experts on children sent an open letter to the mayor of Moscow drawing attention to the problems of residential institutions. Part of that letter read:

"Social, psychological and educational research as well as world wide practice over the last ten years has shown that a familial lifestyle offers the best living arrangements for a parentless child and that it is important to provide conditions as close as possible to family life even for a temporary placement"

 

Current funding has permitted us to lay the foundations for both houses and build and furnish the first house. We are currently exploring the most appropriate use of the area for the second house before proceeding further.
